These climbing socks were designed by our company's (Naigai) socks and mountain-loving employees. The climbing socks were actually put on the market after being tested on day-to-day hikes and in tents (3 nights), and after making six prototypes with modifications each time. Scenes of use include longitudinal mountain climbing in the high mountains (Japanese Alps, Mt. Fuji, etc.) from the remaining snow season to autumn (Japanese Alps, Mt. Fuji, etc.), one-day trips to the low mountains in the suburbs (Honshu/south of Kanto) in winter, and skiing and snowboarding. These are the socks you can use.

These socks are made of a fairly thick pile knit, so I think they would be best paired with high-cut, sturdy mountaineering shoes. The concept behind this sock project was to use a large amount of merino wool, while also offering superior quality and functionality as climbing socks, while also aiming for a wallet-friendly price. Initially, the yarn used in the area that touches the skin was 30 merino wool. %, but through repeated negotiations with the yarn shop, we were able to reduce the cost and increase the blending rate to 70% merino wool.
If you turn the socks inside out and touch the pile, you will feel the softness and warmth that is unique to merino wool. We also aimed to increase the heat retention capacity by increasing the length of the pile (the size of the loop) to the limits of the machine. (Longer pile lengths increase knitting time and reduce production efficiency, which is why factories avoid them.) Merino wool's functionality plus antibacterial and deodorizing treatment (silver ions) eliminates odors that become bothersome when worn for long periods of time, lasting up to 3 nights in a row. I don't think it will bother you if you wear it.
Manufacturing took place at a highly technologically advanced Chinese factory that produces OEM mountaineering socks for Europe and America, and the mountaineering socks were completed in accordance with the original planning concept. We also paid special attention to the packaging, and chose a box shape so that it can be used as a gift.
