Guitarist, singer-songwriter, born August 9, 1972 in Medellin (Colombia). The name Juanes is a nickname that is a contraction of his real name, Juan Esteban Aristizabal Vasquez. I started getting interested in music when I was 7 years old. He begins learning how to play the guitar from his father and older brother. Juanes' passion for music goes beyond traditional Colombian music (vallenato & guasca) to include bolero, tango, ranchera, and cumbia.
