The year 2020 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven. His impact on the history of music is immeasurable, and in Japan he is known as the "Musical Genius." To commemorate this memorial year, Ortofon will release the 2M Black LVB 250, a premium MM cartridge named after the musical genius.
The 2M Black LVB 250 is based on the 2M Black, the flagship of Ortofon's 2M series of MM cartridges.
The LVB 250 is the embodiment of Hi-Fi, boasting extremely high resolution and a wide range, befitting the flagship of the 2M series, with a pure diamond Shibata stylus and a pure silver-plated high-purity copper coil. To surpass the 2M Black, the LVB 250 is the first in Ortofon history to use boron for the MM-type cantilever, and a new damper rubber has also been developed.
This provides transient characteristics (the speed of the sound rise and fall) that are comparable to those of a high-end MC cartridge.
The sound is so fast and natural that it overturns any previous notion of what MM cartridges should sound like.
